Shipra Singh is an Advaita Vedanta educator and Hindu Studies scholar who shares the teachings of Vedanta in a warm, conversational style, drawing on the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads and the wider Sanatan tradition. Talks and conversations featuring her are published on the YouTube channel Upanishads Made Easy. They keep coming back to one question: how this ancient wisdom can steady and light up an ordinary day.

In “Vedanta in daily life” she tells how her own study began with the Bhagavad Gita and grew into teaching. She taught children first, then their parents joined, and now she leads discussions in which people of all ages read the scriptures together. She speaks of Advaita Vedanta’s vision of one essence in every life. She describes ritual as a discipline that prepares the mind for self-enquiry, and work done wholeheartedly as a form of meditation.

As host of “Practical Advaita Vedanta” she puts searching questions to Mahamandaleshwar Swami Abhishek Chaitanya Giri ji: on liberation, the true self, Maya, karma, the place of the guru, and how to keep one’s balance amid life’s dualities. In short reels she takes one idea at a time. One explains Adi Shankaracharya’s teaching of adhyasa (superimposition) and why we are so often hurt by stories of our own making. Another explores the many names and meanings of Agni.
“Dhriti – Steadfastness”, a short Hindi talk on the same channel, reflects on patience and perseverance. It compares our energy to a battery with limited charge, and retells the traditional tale of the sparrow who set out to empty the ocean drop by drop. Her closing message in “Vedanta in daily life” is simple: open the scriptures for yourself, study with sincerity, and remember that “grace comes when you strive for it.”

“You have just one life. You have to spiritualize that life only.”
